Media Snackers

I've been tagged by Neil on the Media Snackers meme, something I should thank him for shaking me out of my late lethargic approach to blogging.

The meme starts from the above movie and I should say I was kind of perplexed. What's the point? Media Snackers are just youths? I personally agree with with Henry Jenkis: media consumption changes with the technology evolution and as a consequence our expectations towards media change (meaning I know I can do some things if I'm emailing from my office and I can do other things if I email from my Blackberry while on the bus).

Maybe youth can be the early adopters of these technologies, but the moment a technology becomes productive, it becomes immediatly adopted by companies then, if it's not too expensive, if it's user friendly and desirable becomes a mass thing.

Ok, it's a bit simplified, but the point is I don't think Media Snacking is something exclusively demographic. There are other variables that pushed most of us to become part of that cluster.

Oh, in case you're interested, Neil tagged also Manish, House Gecko, Sean e Daniel.

I'd call in Robin, Kevin (both with a brand new layout!), Diana and Karim, if they're interested.

...where you will also find an explanation of why we made the video focussed on the youth demographic :-)

Thank you. I feel like, seeing the direction the discussion has taken, this kind of explanation gives a better perspective to the whole project.
